Plant Practices for the New Year

As the new year approaches, it’s time to look around the spaces you are in the most throughout the day and see what needs to be refreshed for the new year. This may mean adding in some green to your office or a splash of color to your kitchen. If you already have some plants to fill those needs, (which we are sure you do) it’s always great to change things around and add in a new plant that just screams “new year, new me!”

We are just getting started when it comes to houseplants for 2023, and even though there is so much more to come, our first truck of the year has some fantastic goodies that we know you’ll love.

Floor Plants

Did your now packed-away Christmas tree leave a huge space to fill up? Have no fear, floor plants are here to save the day! Floor plants can add color to a corner that just never gets enough attention while also bringing your eyes up and around your space. We currently have a variety of floor plants available including ficus, snake plants, dracaenas, and more.

PRO-TIP: Pair your floor plants with strategically placed hanging baskets to carry your eye from ceiling to floor for a cohesive-looking space.

Back to the Basics

If you aren’t looking for a floor plant, you may just want to grab something reliable to dress up your space. Plants like ivy, pothos, and philodendrons are perfect for plant parents who just want smooth sailing into the new year. Not only are these plants easy to care for, they are also not compromising on style. Grab a new pot and, even some plant food, with your new friend to make the new experience even more exciting. Our houseplant Green Team members can even pot your plant up for you so you can go home with an all-in-one package.

Something Special

Looking forward to an exciting and challenging new year? Try out a more difficult-to-care-for houseplant than you already have. Certain houseplants like calathea, bonsai, and rare plants can require more intermediate to expert care. However, the new year is telling you that you’re ready to take the leap and try something new. If you’re still worried, our Green Team is here to help every step of the way from getting you the right soil medium all the way to walking you through how to care for your new plant when you’re home.

2022 was a great year for plants, but we have a feeling 2023 will be even better!
