Fertilizer

And just like plants that come in many different varieties, so do fertilizers. Some plants like high nitrogen fertilizers, while some require less. Some plants want to be fed weekly; some only need to be fed once a year. With all the options, you might be overwhelmed as to what your plant will need. However, our Green Team experts will have all of the answers to help you feed your plants to grow lush flowers or fruit.

McDonald Garden Center’s Garden Supply department carries a complete line of both organic and traditional fertilizers, both of which are designed for our local climate.

GREENLEAF

Greenleaf has been a McDonald Garden Center staple for years and is specially formulated for plants in Eastern Virginia. A good general purpose fertilizer, it releases nutrients slowly. Use in containers, planting beds, shrubs, trees, perennials, annuals and more.

TRADITIONAL SOLUTION
A professional fertilizer designed to provide nutrients that the soil lacks and is suitable for all plants from houseplants to trees and shrubs.

This 12-4-8 slow release formula gives an excellent initial feed you will see within days and continues to feed for 1-3 months, depending on plant needs.

All plant food has macronutrients, Nitrogen-Phosphorus-Potassium, but Greenleaf has micro nutrients, including boron, copper, iron, magnesium, zinc and molybdenum to help increase the nutrients that soil naturally lacks.

Feed plants at least 2-3 times a year. Plants that bloom or grow more aggressively should be fed more often.

ORGANIC SOLUTION
An all organic professional fertilizer designed to provide nutrients that the soil lacks. This plant food is ideal for all plants from houseplants to trees and shrubs as well as fruits and veggies.

Greenleaf also aides in beautiful green-up and flowering of all plants.
