Receiving Manager

Position Summary: Receive and process all incoming product for garden supply, houseplants, deco, patio, annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, store supplies and shipments split between the Great Neck Rd. location, the Independence Blvd. location, and the Warehouse.

 

Responsibilities:   

  • Monitor the calendar throughout the day to ensure there is an understanding of product that is due in. Follow up on related delivery issues.
  • Receive product into the inventory system.
  • Reconcile purchase orders with shipper deliver orders. 
  • Identify shipping and receiving discrepancies. Further, resolve or cause to be resolved those discrepancies.
  • Ensure product is tagged with buyer assistant provided tags or printing them in the absence of provided tags.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning and paper products (including post office)
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Inform buyer, buyers assistant, store manager and department manager of damaged product and missing product. Further, follow up with all parties until the issue is resolved.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of plants and their needs.
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs 
  • Basic math skills (high school level)
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook, POS, Eagle Browser)
  • Ability to manage time ensuring that everything is completed on time
  • Skill to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to communicate problems with multiple departments.
  • Ability to follow up on problems and make sure they are resolved correctly.

 

Qualification:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • General knowledge of business
